Ground Beef Patties:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Gravy:

  • 2 cups milk, divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Layers:

  • 45 medium Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Season and Form Patties: Season ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 6 patties.
  3. Cook Patties: Brown the patties in a skillet over medium heat; set aside.
  4. Make Gravy: In the same skillet, whisk 1 cup of milk with flour until smooth. Gradually add remaining milk, stirring to form a gravy. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Layer Casserole: Arrange half of potatoes and onions in the baking dish. Place patties on top, then add remaining potatoes and onions.
