Ingredients

Scale

Jam Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen cranberries
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup finely minced jalapeno peppers (about 23 small peppers)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime zest

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients. In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, minced jalapenos, lime juice, and lime zest. Stir well, and let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until the cranberries release their liquid.
  2. Heat and Dissolve Sugar. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until the cranberries start to burst and the sugar fully dissolves.
  3. Mash the Berries. Using a potato masher or the back of a spoon, gently mash the cranberries to release more juice and create a smooth texture.
  4. Cook to Jam Consistency. Slightly increase the heat and cook the mixture, stirring every few minutes, until the jam reaches 220°F (104°C), which should take approximately 25-30 minutes.
  5. Cool and Store. Remove the jam from heat and let it cool slightly. Transfer into sterilized jars and allow to cool completely before sealing and storing.

Notes

  • You can adjust the number of jalapenos to control the heat level in the jam.
  • Sterilize jars properly before storing to ensure longer shelf life.
  • Use lime zest and juice fresh for the best flavor and brightness.
  • This jam pairs beautifully with cream cheese, grilled meats, and sandwiches.
  • Refrigerate after opening and consume within 2-3 weeks for optimal freshness.
