Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (285g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ cups (420g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.2g) salt
  • ½ cup sprinkles
  • Gel colors (Pink, Royal Blue, and Violet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Fold in the sprinkles.
  4. Color the dough: Divide the dough into 4 portions. Leave one portion plain and color the other three portions with pink, royal blue, and violet gel colors. Gently swirl the colors together to create a marbled effect.
  5. Shape and bake: Scoop out portions of dough, roll them in sugar or sprinkles, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
