4.8 from 13 reviews

A cozy and festive fall cocktail combining sweet apple cider, cinnamon Fireball whiskey, fresh apples, red wine, and a splash of ginger ale for a spicy, bubbly sangria perfect for autumn gatherings and holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit and Spices

  • 4 apples, thinly sliced (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks

Liquids

  • 5 cups apple cider
  • 1.5 L Pinot Grigio wine
  • 1 cup Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey
  • 7.5 oz ginger ale (add just before serving)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except ginger ale: In a large pitcher, place the thinly sliced apples, cinnamon sticks, apple cider, Pinot Grigio wine, and Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. Gently stir together to begin melding the flavors.
  2. Let the sangria steep: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2-4 hours or overnight if possible. This resting time allows the cinnamon, apples, and spices to infuse the sangria, enhancing the depth of flavor.
  3. Add ginger ale before serving: Just before serving, pour in the ginger ale to maintain the fizzy texture. Stir gently to combine without losing bubbles.
  4. Serve chilled over ice: Pour the sangria over ice in glasses, including some of the boozy apple slices for garnish and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Add ginger ale only just before serving to keep the sangria bubbly and fresh.
  • Use crisp apple varieties like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith to ensure the fruit holds its shape and adds nice texture.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the Fireball and add extra apple cider with cinnamon sticks.
  • This sangria keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; stir before serving.
  • Muddle cinnamon sticks lightly before adding to release more spice if desired.
  • Serve in smaller portions due to the strong alcohol content.
