A delicate and soothing Sakura Latte recipe that features the subtle floral flavor of cherry blossom powder blended into warm milk, sweetened with honey, and topped with a light frothy cream. Perfect for a cozy and elegant treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Milk Base

  • 1 cup / 240 ml / 8 fl oz milk (dairy or dairy-free)
  • 2 tbsp Sakura powder, plus more for garnish

Sweetener

  • 1 tbsp honey (can substitute with maple syrup)

Optional Cream Topping

  • 1/4 cup / 60 ml / 2 fl oz heavy cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk: Pour the milk into a small saucepan and add the Sakura powder. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat on the stovetop for about 5 to 7 minutes, whisking constantly until the milk is warm, steamy, and the Sakura powder is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust by adding an extra tablespoon of Sakura powder if you prefer a stronger flavor.
  2. Add sweetener: Remove the milk from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of honey or your preferred sweetener. Add more if desired to suit your sweetness preference.
  3. Whip cream: In a small cold bowl, whip the heavy cream using a milk frother or a small whisk until it reaches a frothy, foamy texture. Avoid whipping until stiff peaks form; the goal is to lightly fluff the cream.
  4. Assemble: Pour the warm Sakura milk into a cup or mug. Gently spoon the foamy whipped cream on top using a large tablespoon. Garnish with a light sprinkle of dried Sakura powder for an attractive finish.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately while warm and enjoy your soothing, floral Sakura Latte.

Notes

  • You can substitute the honey with maple syrup or any sweetener of your choice.
  • Use dairy-free milk and coconut cream for a vegan variation.
  • The optional whipped cream topping adds richness but can be omitted for a lighter drink.
  • Adjust the amount of Sakura powder according to your flavor preference.
  • For a chilled version, cool the latte and serve over ice.
