Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Tenders:

  • 1 pound chicken tenders

Coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)

Additional:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine chicken tenders and buttermilk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for better flavor and tenderness.
  2. Prepare Coating: In another bowl, mix flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Whisk Egg: In a separate bowl, beat the egg to create an egg wash.
  4. Preheat Oil: In a frying pan, heat about 1-2 inches of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Coat Chicken: Remove each chicken tender from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dip into the egg wash, then coat thoroughly with the flour mixture. Press the coating onto the chicken to ensure it adheres well.
  6. Fry Chicken: Carefully place the coated chicken tenders into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to do this in batches.
  7. Drain Oil: Once cooked, transfer the tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve Hot: Enjoy your Raising Cane Tenders while they are hot for the best flavor and texture.
