These Jello Candy Melts are a fun, colorful treat made with flavored Jello and unflavored gelatin. Easy to prepare with just a few ingredients, they set perfectly in molds or dishes and provide a chewy, sweet snack that’s perfect for parties, kids, or anytime you want a playful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Gelatin Mixture

  • 1 box (3 oz) flavored Jello (any flavor)
  • 2 envelopes (0.25 oz each) unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water

For Greasing

  • Nonstick spray or butter (for greasing molds)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a mixing bowl, add the flavored Jello, unflavored gelatin envelopes, and cold water. Stir together and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom and absorb the water.
  2. Dissolve gelatin: Microwave the bowl for 1 minute. Remove and stir thoroughly until the gelatin and Jello powders are completely dissolved, creating a smooth liquid.
  3. Prepare molds: Lightly grease your candy molds or dish with nonstick spray or butter to ensure easy release of the candies later.
  4. Pour and chill: Pour the dissolved gelatin mixture into the greased molds or dish evenly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the mixture is fully set and firm.
  5. Cut or unmold: Once firm, either pop the candies out of the molds or cut the gelatin slab into bite-sized pieces, ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of Jello to customize the candies to your liking.
  • Be sure to let the gelatin bloom properly for a smooth texture.
  • Greasing molds lightly helps prevent sticking and makes removal easier.
  • If you don’t have molds, pour into a flat dish and cut into pieces once set.
  • Store candies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
