The Bushwacker is a rich, creamy cocktail blending dark rum, coffee liqueur, and coconut flavors into a smooth, icy drink perfect for tropical vibes. This indulgent cocktail is garnished with dark chocolate shavings for an extra touch of decadence.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 2 ounces dark rum
  • 1.5 ounces Kahlua
  • 1.5 ounces cream de cacao (dark or light)
  • 1 ounce cream of coconut (not coconut cream)
  • 2 ounces heavy whipping cream

Other Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ice (add more as needed)
  • Dark chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add 2 ounces of dark rum, 1.5 ounces of Kahlua, 1.5 ounces of cream de cacao, 1 ounce of cream of coconut, 2 ounces of heavy whipping cream, and 1 1/2 cups of ice into a blender.
  2. Blend Mixture: Blend all ingredients together until smooth and creamy. Check the consistency, and add more ice if the mixture is too thin or if desired to achieve a thicker texture.
  3. Pour into Glasses: Pour the blended drink into clear coffee mugs or similar glasses with a handle and base.
  4. Garnish: Use a microplane zester to grate dark chocolate shavings over the top of each drink for added flavor and presentation.
  5. Serve: Insert a straw to help keep the drink mixed as you sip, since the Bushwacker can separate. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the proportions of rum, Kahlua, and cream to suit your taste preferences.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half and half or milk for the heavy whipping cream, which will make the cocktail less rich and thick.
  • Add chocolate syrup to enhance the chocolate flavor of the drink.
  • Both dark and light cream de cacao can be used depending on your preference.
  • The drink tends to separate over time, so use a straw and stir occasionally.
