These Hot Italian Sub Sliders are a delicious, savory twist on classic Italian sandwiches, made with a variety of deli meats, provolone cheese, and zesty peppers on soft Hawaiian rolls. Perfect for parties, game day, or a tasty family meal, they are baked to golden perfection and served with a flavorful garlic butter topping and marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Sandwiches

  • 12 pack Hawaiian rolls, halved lengthwise
  • 6 oz ham, thinly sliced
  • 5 oz salami, thinly sliced
  • 5 oz pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/3 cup pepperoncini, sliced
  • 1/3 cup pickled hot cherry peppers, sliced

Seasoned Butter

  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Dipping Sauce

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s at the perfect temperature for baking the sliders.
  2. Assemble the sliders: Lay the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls on a baking sheet or pan. Layer the ham slices evenly over the bread, followed by salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese slices. Then add the sliced hot cherry peppers and pepperoncini on top of the cheese. Cover with the top halves of the rolls and set aside.
  3. Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted salted butter with Italian seasoning and the crushed garlic cloves. Stir well to mix all the flavors.
  4. Brush the sliders: Generously brush the seasoned garlic butter mixture over the tops of the sliders, ensuring you coat every nook and cranny for maximum flavor.
  5. Bake the sliders: Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil to keep the sliders moist and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  6. Serve: Once baked, remove the sliders from the oven and slice them apart. Serve warm with a side of your favorite marinara sauce for dipping and enjoy!

Notes

  • Using fresh garlic instead of jarred garlic enhances the flavor of the seasoned butter.
  • Hawaiian rolls add a pleasantly sweet contrast to the spicy peppers and savory meats.
  • Feel free to swap provolone cheese with mozzarella or fontina for a different cheese profile.
  • For a milder version, omit the hot cherry peppers or use milder pepper varieties.
  • These sliders can be prepared a few hours ahead and baked just before serving to save time.
  • Leftovers can be wrapped tightly and refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven for best results.
