Ingredients

Scale

For the Lemonade

  • 2 small lemons
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1½ cups water
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash: Wash the lemons thoroughly to remove any dirt or residues from the skin.
  2. Quarter: Cut the lemons into quarters and place them into a container suitable for muddling.
  3. Muddle: Use a muddler or a similar tool to press and crush the lemon quarters, extracting as much juice as possible from them.
  4. Shake Sugar: Add the granulated sugar to the container with the muddled lemons and gently shake the container to help the lemon juice dissolve the sugar.
  5. Fill with Ice and Water: Fill the container about three-quarters full with ice cubes, then add 1½ cups of water.
  6. Shake Again: Secure the lid tightly before punching a hole in it. Shake the mixture vigorously to thoroughly combine the ingredients and chill the lemonade.
  7. Serve: Punch a 5/16” hole in the lid or make another preferred opening, insert a straw, and enjoy your refreshing fair lemonade immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the sugar quantity to taste if you prefer a sweeter or more tart lemonade.
  • The muddling step helps release both juice and natural oils from the lemon peel, enhancing the flavor.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the lemonade before serving to remove seeds and pulp.
  • Use cold water and plenty of ice to ensure the beverage is well chilled.
