Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 20 g (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring, to desired shade

Sugars

  • 100 g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar
  • 50 g (1/4 cup) light brown sugar

Dry Ingredients

  • 230 g (1 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Add-ins

  • 40 g (1/4 cup) dark chocolate chips
  • 40 g (1/4 cup) white chocolate chips
  • 30 g (1/4 cup) crushed mini cookies
  • 3 Oreos, chopped
  • 12 whole Oreos for stuffing

Instructions

  1. Beat Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together for about 2 minutes until the mixture becomes creamy and well combined.
  2. Add Egg, Vanilla, and Coloring: Mix in the room temperature egg, vanilla extract, and blue gel food coloring. Continue mixing for 1 minute until the mixture is smooth and evenly colored.
  3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually fold these dry ingredients gently into the wet mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix to maintain a tender dough.
  4. Add Mix-Ins: Fold in the dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, crushed mini cookies, and chopped Oreos evenly throughout the dough for a rich texture and flavor.
  5. Chill the Dough: Cover the dough container and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 to 60 minutes. This helps the dough firm up and flavors to meld.
  6. Shape Cookies with Whole Oreos: Take portions of the chilled dough, flatten each piece, place one whole Oreo in the center, and carefully wrap the dough around the Oreo to enclose it fully.
  7. Pre-Chill the Shaped Cookies: Place the wrapped cookie dough balls on a lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for another 30 minutes or alternatively, chill in the freezer for 15 minutes to set their shape before baking.
  8. Bake: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the cookies on the lined sheet for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges turn lightly golden while the centers remain soft and chewy.
  9. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough before baking is essential to maintain shape and deepen flavors.
  • Use gel food coloring to avoid thinning the dough consistency.
  • Wrap the Oreos tightly to prevent chocolate from leaking during baking.
  • Cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
