Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons smokey barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

Sandwich:

  • 4 extra large breaded chicken fingers/strips/tenders
  • 4 thick-cut bacon slices, cooked and crisp
  • 4 brioche hot dog buns
  • Romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Dill pickles, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Whisk all the sauce ingredients together in a small mixing bowl. Cover and refrigerate while preparing other ingredients.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Cook the chicken strips according to package directions. Toast the buns in the air fryer for 1 minute.
  3. Cook the Bacon: Cook the bacon until crispy using an oven, frying pan, or air fryer. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread sauce on both sides of the bun. Add chicken strips, bacon, lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles.
  5. Finish: Season with cracked black pepper and drizzle with extra sauce before serving.
