A fun twist on the classic Big Mac sandwich, these Big Mac Sloppy Joes feature a savory ground beef filling smothered in a homemade Big Mac sauce, topped with cheese, lettuce, onions, and pickles, all sandwiched between sesame seed hamburger buns.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Big Mac Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sweet relish
  • 3 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dehydrated (granulated) onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Sloppy Joes:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 cooking onion, finely diced (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 slices American cheese
  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, relish, mustard, vinegar, paprika, dehydrated onion, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, 1/2 cup of onion, salt, and pepper until browned.
  3. Make the Sloppy Joe Mixture: Stir in Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 cup of the Big Mac sauce. Melt a slice of cheese into the mixture.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Toast the buns. Spread Big Mac sauce on the bottom buns, add lettuce, onions, cheese, beef mixture, pickles, more beef mixture, and top buns.
  5. Serve: Serve the Big Mac Sloppy Joes warm.

Notes

  • You can customize the toppings to your preference, such as adding tomatoes or extra pickles.
  • For a tangier sauce, increase the amount of mustard and vinegar.
