Ingredients

Scale

For the Drink

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional)
  • Ice

For the Rim and Garnish

  • Cinnamon sugar for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Apple slice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass: Rim a glass by dipping the edge into water or lime juice, then into cinnamon sugar to coat it evenly. Fill the glass with ice to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
  2. Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apple cider, freshly squeezed lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup if using. Add plenty of ice to the shaker.
  3. Shake Well: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the mixed cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice, ensuring no ice shards or pulp go in.
  5. Garnish: Decorate the rim with a lime wedge and place a thin apple slice on the glass edge. Serve immediately to enjoy the crisp, refreshing flavors at their best.

Notes

  • Optional simple syrup can be adjusted or omitted based on your preferred level of sweetness and the sweetness of the apple cider used.
  • For a spicier rim, you can mix cinnamon sugar with a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best bright and natural flavor.
  • To make the cocktail batch-friendly, multiply the ingredients and prepare in a large shaker or pitcher, shaking or stirring before serving.
