Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 2 cups crushed strawberries
  • 2 cups crushed raspberries
  • 2 cups crushed blueberries

Other Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin (like Sure-Jell)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash and remove stems from strawberries, then rinse all the berries under cold water thoroughly.
  2. Crush the Berries: Using a potato masher or fork, crush the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries separately until chunky but cohesive.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large pot, mix the crushed fruits, sugar, lemon juice, and optional cinnamon and nutmeg evenly.
  4. Heat the Mixture: Place pot over medium heat and stir continuously until the mixture begins to simmer, taking around 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Add Fruit Pectin: Slowly sprinkle the fruit pectin into the simmering mixture while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Allow it to return to a gentle boil.
  6. Boil to Thicken: Boil the jam for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens slightly.
  7. Jar the Jam: Remove from heat and ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace at the top.
  8. Seal the Jars: Wipe rims clean with a damp cloth, place sterilized lids on jars, and screw metal rings until fingertip tight.
  9. Cool and Store: Let jars cool at room temperature. Check seals once cooled. Store sealed jars in a cool, dark place or refrigerate opened jars.
